VENDOR SPOTLIGHT | Après Event Décor and Tent Rental, Wedding & Event Rentals in Minneapolis St. Paul
It's round three of our vendor spotlight series! This month, we're chatting with Après Event Décor and Tent Renta. We've worked with them on countless weddings between our two brands- they have a stellar inventory and SO many great options to chose from in a variety of styles. Plus, they have some of the can't live without items (you know, chairs, glasses, silverware). Read on for the scoop on what make them awesome!
What does Apres specialize in? Tent Rental, as well as rental of seating, tables, furniture, staging, tabletop, accessories and linen.
What is your service area? Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska and The Dakotas.
What would couples be surprised to hear about your company/service? That we can be a one- stop shopping experience for rentals—we carry almost every rental item a couple would need for their special day —and if we don’t have it, we will refer the couple to one of our many support vendors.
What is an often "forgotten" rental item that most events need? The most forgotten item is trash cans for outdoor events. The most underestimated item is the quantity of needed bar glassware .
You recently moved (back in March)- tell us about your new space! It was a gigantic effort to prepare our new Minnetonka space and the make the actual move. But now that we are here, we can’t believe Après existed in only 65,000 square feet in Edina! Our new location is 100,000 square feet, with a spacious showroom giving us the ability to show never-before-seen product. Having all of our team finally under one roof has made everything run much more smoothly, and 12 dock doors allow both Après and our customers to deliver and pick-up much more efficiently.
What is your most popular rental item right now? Natural woven linens in neutral color tones.
Why should a couple work with a wedding planner? A wedding should be enjoyable, not stress-filled. A wedding planner can be a trusted advisor, a researcher, and someone to lean on during the planning stage. A wedding planner knows the right people to talk to, how to get the best price, how to negotiate a contract, and how to ensure that every detail is prepared for your day. Moneywise, they are like a financial adviser -- They know how much things should cost, what percentage of your budget goes where, and when payments are required. They understand timelines and deadlines, and how to order accurately. In summery--a wedding planner assists in making your vision a reality.
What is your favorite wedding "trend" for 2017 and 2018 weddings/events? The move away from “Rustic” and towards “Old World Luxury”
What should couples be prepared to ask you regarding their rentals? Find out what are the table sizes (in inches) at your venue. What equipment is provided by the venue? Also ask what days and times deliveries and take downs are available at the site. This may affect the delivery charges.
On another note, what should they be on the lookout for when meeting with other companies? Après works with a large number of venues on a regular basis. It’s important to have a good relationship between the rental company and their venue contacts—knowing who to call, what are the limitations, and what to do if there’s a unforeseen challenge. Make sure your rental provider knows your venue.
